Its Christmas and truth is every body is happy. This is evident in the activity going on around us as we are either spending or we are very willing to spend on the next item that will impress.
Back home, people are expecting a gift from santa or a surprise token from you as to many this (giving) is the definition of christmas.
Fact is, sizeable fractions of our savings are utilised during the numerous festive calendar days not withstanding the re-occurrence of the festivities nor the reason for the season, occasion or celebration.
In brief, 'The world spends' on some thing. While much of the world savings are given away with much ease, a few individuals have mastered the art of being on the receiving end of such great opportunities.
Before i judge any body, we have comforted our selves with spending during occasions as these and we have forgotten that even after this one, there shall come another and we shall do the same. Not to blame them that spend as we all rather do, let us open our eyes to the great one time opportunities that any body can seize if only they are positioned on the right side of the market forces.
Put your self first in the likeness of an individual who stocks lights for the festival of lights, sell Easter eggs, christmas lights, does body painting at the carnival, sells bulls for blood feasts among other festivities.
One thing not left out is what everybody eats and drinks as to many, this is the ultimate definition of 'feast'.
SAVING FOR A GREAT CAUSE
Saving is a great idea, but how far can your saving deposits take you if at certain points in time you spend directly from them not withstanding how long it has taken you to grow the reserve. This knowing that every penny saved lately remains more or less a penny
The better deal then should be investing and re-investing in those items and/ or services we personally cherish. "It would take you somewhere if the next birthday present you received was picked from your gift shop."
How much more could it be if the whole world waits in expectation of the next edition of lighting you intend to unveil on the next festival of lights.
Just like we can save for the next iphone series, the next harry potter edition, the latest block buster among others; of these, do you think the line is so long that you shall not be anticipated, or the count of events is so numerous that your effort to contribute will not be noticed?
it's true our minds lately have been configured to think hard even for the simplest things. One may be drawing estimates of a large store, employees, rent among other factors but let us narrow it down to where you are now. To begin with, let's put the idea of being the ultimate focal point to rest and focus on having something somewhere that can have your income/savings recycled and made better
You and i certainly know the seasons and events when we would gladly spend every penny in your purse without questioning.
You and i happen to know the timing of the next one but what do we intend to do different?
Are we going to carry on with the norm?
How about the idea of saving to investing in the same items you would buy on this day rather than saving to spend on them.
Saving with an intention to invest is more captivating than saving intended for an event. The later is good enough as it means you can set goals and achieve them however, how much more should we consider saving for reinvestment reasons?
Let us look at the big picture; as a household, create a simple summation (may not be exact) of your total expenditure the last festive season. Is it not likely that close to half the world had a similar expenditure on the same items in the same season?
Should we therefore call them that invested at the time lucky?
Why envy them that have learnt the seasons and take advantage of the opportunities as they manifest in the different seasons and occasions?
How slim the edge between luck, preparation and the great opportunity at hand.
To them that seize these opportunities, we call lucky. Is there not an element of preparation?
THE GREAT QUESTION
We are prepared for white collar jobs among other formal opportunities right from the time we begin to reason till late in our teen age. We still chip off time to prepare for that great job interview.
We are trained to prepare for any thing and every thing but that great idea birthed in our minds. How many are the ideas that have gone through your mind since you begun reading this book?
What is the furthest you have gone in regard to that great idea that last fascinated you, to the point that you saw it was the ultimate answer to all you ever wanted let alone the numerous needs you have to satisfy.
This draws me to the great question; Are you ready to have the world spend on you?
Are you just fascinated by the idea?
May be you have just been blown away by the deep thought about it.
The difference between you and that great entrepreneur you admire is the amount of value either of you has attached to the twenty four (24) hours available in each day that goes by.
Great opportunities barely manifest through great ideas but rather through the simple thoughts we tend to despise.
The idea running through you mind right now can be best executed not with a great bank reserve but a clear plan that draws out all the Strengths, the Weaknesses, the Opportunities available and the Threats to the same. Many are the times we begin our planning drafts with expectations with no consideration of what should input as the initial investment.
This in turn blows us away as our scope of expectations highlights such a broad demand base that our limited investment reserve cannot cover. We therefore pull out of that one, develop another idea we think is much cheaper and the cycle continues.
When shall all this end?
NO E****XCUSE.
Most of us are either slaves to white colour employment, education, some are 'souled out' to our careers and still our families still need our time and our presence. How then can one strike a balance and still pull through with results on either side?
While we are still grappling about how much we have on our plate, someone we know is doing this and they have covered good mileage. How long shall we wait for certain things to get out of the way before we stand on our feet.
I just learnt that ' the day you step out to work for your self, is the day you shall put an end to that desire to work under someone else.' That not withstanding, it all shall begin the day you decide. Simply put, the day you make up your mind is the day your dream shall begin to live and thrive.
The choice is yours and it all shall begin with you.
Many are the times we have envied those that are a head of us not knowing that we are envied far more by those in whose sight we are a head.
May be not you but almost every one around you is fighting hard to beat a certain mark of self actualisation. How I wish it had an imperical measure in weights or sums.
The only difference is that it is relative to every individual but it is certainly measured by wealth, possessions and\ or achievements which are also relative in a way.
Is it natural that we envy them that have gone a head? What's there as the difference between us? I think it is the little 'EXTRA' they add to every thing they value with their time. What do you value?
How much of your lunch break or tea break have you spared just to see that this is done just as Extra ordinarily as you dream it should?
The difference between us could be that between procrastination and timing.
All that you have now shows the world how much you value and invest in time (holding certain variables constant)
Did you know that the people you confide in also have a lot they reveal about you?
Help me understand who we are keeping close; the forces operating around us have a certain person they attract and repel another at the same time, some people are around us because we have what they like. The day we loose it, you will not tell what happened. Meaning, these people will stay around you as long as you can keep the pattern that attracted them.
These make the majority of people we keep around us.
None the less, people shall remain the same as they are attracted to them that have what they need.
Always remember that ' it is such a sad fate for a soul to live, well known to every body else yet not known to one's self. A simple trick would be
