It seems obvious yet we all are falling victim of situation and dealing with consequences that would not be had we exercised our R2N
We are loosing ourselves so much to the point that we rather the regret or deal with strange consequences yet ‘No!’ if said in the first place could have changed the entire situation.
Are we expected to consent with every idea thrown at us?
Is everything that comes our way supposed to come into our lives?
Do we not have a right to choice, better still make personal or maybe guided decisions that aught to define us much better?
Who determines what we let happen in our lives?
Are we just weak?
Why are we letting the trend define us?
why are we conforming to the call of society rather than being transformed by the inward renewing of our minds, our experiences and expectations?
Are we just scared of being judged, afraid of not pleasing a certain few?
Seeking gratification from many that choose to use our vulnerability for their own gain without much consideration.
What is rather interesting, they trust you enough to seek your opinion and you do not respect them enough to give it to them in full honesty simply because they may not be pleased with your truth. “you are an enemy not a friend.”
Better a bitter No than the consequences, guilt and regret suffered from a false yes.
There is nothing as evil and so wrong as for one to lead another down a path they definitely know is to a bitter end just because they need to please them yet ‘No!’ Would save them a great deal.
There is no such a thing as choosing to please someone when in truth you are leading them and yourself to destruction.
Life is indeed a sum total of the choices we make and the lessons learnt from every mistake we have ever made and more from those made by those before and around us. life is also too short to spend most of it correcting other people's mistakes.
Could we be victims of the circumstances that put us in this place?
Slaves to the benefit acquired from the works that we can actually do without?
Doing our best to please many that could be doing us a favour but we cannot dare say NO as society and the expectations of those around us count more than ours.
"I harass you some times." One blatantly stated before concluding that that's the only way he could get the best result.
Has humanity gotten to this point?
We no longer recognise that a happy employee is a productive employee and as such, we are taking advantage of the fact that they cannot do without the peanuts we are throwing at them for their sweat and blood.
What is the essence of life if we have rights that favour a few or mostly facades that favour those that can afford them?
What is the essence of life when someone cannot say NO whenever it is the right word to say?
Dare to please someone with the bitter truth and you shall be a true friend. Better a bitter ‘No!’
It is your right.
