Then the inconvenient truth

Xcen, a very caring, humble and beautiful young girl cannot be more than extatic as the day for her fiancée to come make his intentions known officially to her family is fast approaching.
Everyone is in high spirit and you just cannot take away the Joy from Xcen's innocent spirit as it beams right through her.

As is with custom, many guests mostly known come together to help with the preparation as all hands and advice are welcome for not with standing ubuntu. So then does blood seldom sneak in; with myths, some fact, some claim and surprise! surprise, Xcen's day is no exception. None can narrate how she found her way in but then she is; "Brile! if i may introduce myself," She said. Her siblings call me Aunt Brile she added as she made herself confortable.

None can tell how she got the address but well here she is and every one is glad to recieve her as the mood is quite already set and as custom and maybe honest innocence, there is a belief that everyone that shows up is 'omuntu' therefore in support and so ready to assist as is 'ubuntu.'

Xcen is summoned and to her surprise she finds her parents quite confused and disheartened. Seated together in with Aunt Brile, neither of them is willing to say a thing even when Xcen asks what the problem is; "Can someone please tell me what is going on here."
"You are not holding any family events away from your blood, your own, your real family Xcen." Aunt Brile started. We are going to hold all these formalities in your real parent's home with your true parents and siblings.
Xcen's heart skipped a beat, her breathe stopped, eyes wide open with no notable movement for a moment. "Did you hear what i just said?" Aunt Brile asked the numb Xcen who still had not composed her self enough to respond.

She was picked off the street at age 7 after the very Brile she had forgiven and forgotten closed her doors and clearly stated that she was not welcome as she did not belong among them nor with the people she had known as her true blood.
Having survived the cold dirty streets at 7 she was lucky to find foster care and a loving family that adopted her as their own and gave her the up bringing deserved by a princess.

Through her growth and all the 21 years of her royal life, not even a word came to her from them that disowned her thus she barely considered them either. Scaled and excelled through school, graduated with honours, worked her magic to the satisfaction of her foster parents and siblings who loved her to bits that she lacked nor asked for a thing all through her humble innocent life.

"Why?, why now?" She asks with a quiver in her voice and tears rolling down her smooth flushed cheeks, her eyes still closed in anguish as she could not afford the strength to keep a straight gaze.
Her fingers folded into tight fists; Xcen's body just let go and she collapsed down to her knees.
"Why?"
Mum Xcen laments as she reached out to her from behind trying to confort and strength her sweetheart, helping her regain her composure  but cannot say much either. Papa Xcen looking sombre as he is left alone in his then cold seat. He also cannot do much other than try not to be a contributor to the deteriorating situation at hand. Moments sipped through as elderly eyes made strong statements through awkward gazes but none dare broke the 'pin-drop' silence.

So much she would like to say but out of the respect and the values that have moulded her she chooses to leave all thought as thought. Her innocent spirit has just gotten to quizzing her, throwing in one tough question after another;
"Where have they been all this while?"
"How did they get to know about this?"
"Why does this have to happen to me now?"
She can hardly breathe, suffocating both from the outside and within. Every space feels crowded. She can feel the weight of her head like she would the world on her shoulders.

"I need to be alone!" Xcen, weak, confused, tearful and furious said while she gathered what is left of her scene self and dashed as first as her feet could carry her to her room. Mama Xcen followed but she couldn't keep up as the heavy bedroom door was slammed shut and locked right in her face.
Silence loomed as everyone looked at the other but no one could find a word to speak,

"Who is she? Mummy, who is this woman?"   little Perk asked as he had been awaken by the slamming doors, running feet and travailing Xcen. "Mummy!, why is Xcen Crying?"
"What have you done?"
The little voice kept the room full of questions and echoes.
"Come here Perk, come to me." Mummy Xcen reached out her hand to the little one.
"Everything is going to be alright." She said as she embraced him and gently stroked his brow.
This is Xcen's Aunt Brile and she just told her somethings that she did not like so she is sad but she will be fine.

"What has she told her?" He probed further as he shifted his gaze from mummy Xcen to Aunt Brile. "Oooh dear!, mummy exclaimed as she thought of an easy way to break the disturbing news to the curious toddler in a way he can understand without causing another scene.
"Ok,
"You mean you are not her mummy?" Perk now curious asked. "I am her mummy but her real mummy, the one who gave birth to her is also alive." Mama Xcen continued, "she has sent Aunt Brile to us."
"Then why is Xcen crying?" Perk asked again. "Let us wait for her to come out of her room and tell us."
"Now you go and tell Nana to make for you breakfast. Okay." As she showed him the way to the kitchen.
"Nana!, Perk is on his way.." "You can go baby."
"He's pretty curious and smart!" Anut Brile said to Mummy and Daddy Xcen. "Oooohhh, he is" Mummy Xcen sighed.

So, how are we going to solve this?
Judging from what we all have witnessed thus far, Xcen seems to see things from a different perspective. Daddy Xcen started talking.
Are you willing to let her choose as she pleases?
Let us wait for her to come say it herself." Aunt Brile set off.
Children of this generation, she added as she shook her head in disbelief.
"Twenty years, it has been a whole twenty years and  we did not even know that our daughter existed."
"Thanks to social media we got know about this one. But even then, you also want to have her away from her blood even as she is espoused?," "you two should be ashamed of yourselves!" with her tone rising and her gaze straight at the Xcen's.
"You should be ashamed of yourselves!"
